ANDY Collie/Beagle Mix - Young Male
|
Andy is a very special dog. He was rescued from a person that had 149 dogs. After
he was rescued from severe neglect he had to spend 8 months at a humane society
until the legal battle was settled. His prison sentence was over about a month ago.
He was sent to our Rescue the middle of April.
Andy is very shy but he is also VERY trusting. It is not his fault that he is scared....he
has had little human contact so far so he doesn't understand the real world. The
person that adopts Andy is going to have the wonderful experience of helping a truly
kind dog experience life and learn how wonderful living in a home can be. He is not
a hyper dog and is very calm and thoughtful. He is using his dog bed, chewing his
chew toys, likes his massages and has enjoyed his baths.
Andy is going to be a very DEVOTED friend to whoever takes him in and helps him on
his journey. Andy is about 45 pounds and we are really guessing at his mix. I really
doubt he is a beagle. He is a beautiful dog. He is the size of a pointer if that helps!
We are looking for a home without children because of the activity/noice level. Andy
is not aggressive at all.
Andy is currently in a foster home with 4 other dogs. He is housetrained and loves
the other dogs. His foster mom thinks that Andy would make more progress in a
home with fewer dogs so that he doesn't rely so much on the dog pack. Andy is
still very shy and needs one dog to be his buddy. Andy needs an owner that is
patient and understands that he needs time to build confidence. Andy also requires
a fenced in yard. Is your home the right one for Andy?
